About the NSA Cadet Program

The Norwegian Shipowners’ Association (NSA) Cadet Program, managed by the Norwegian Maritime Foundation of the Philippines Inc. (NMFPI) through the Association of Shipowners – Training & Education Program (ATEP), aims to produce highly skilled Filipino seafarers.

Partnering with top maritime institutions, the program fully sponsors qualified cadets for a career in the maritime industry.

With over 6,000 graduates now serving as marine officers worldwide, the NSA Cadet Program continues to be a premier gateway for young Filipinos to excel at sea.

Qualifications

To Appy for the NSA Cadet Program, Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Filipino citizen
  • 17–24 years old on or before April 30, 2026
  • Senior High School (K-12) graduates, existing college students, or tertiary level graduates
  • Physically and mentally fit
  • No derogatory records or criminal convictions

Degree Programs Offered

  • Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BSMT) – training for future Ship Captains and Deck Officers
  • Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering (BSMarE) – training for future Chief Engineers and Engine Officers
