WHO CAN APPLY

Who else may apply?
✓ Ph.D. graduate in a priority S&T program (scholar or non-scholar) who intends to pursue a second Ph.D. degree.
✓ MS/Ph.D. non-scholar graduate (not S&T related) who intends to pursue a second MS/Ph.D. degree.

Who may NO longer apply?
✓ Ph.D. graduate (scholar or non-scholar) who intends to pursue another MS degree program.
✓ MS graduate in a priority S&T program (scholar or non-scholar) who intends to pursue a second MS degree.

APPLICATION DEADLINE

The deadline for the applicant to submit to the university is on June 30, 2023, while the university must submit the applicant’s particulars to SEI on or before July 31, 2023, for the First Semester of AY 2023-2024.

2. Youth Scholarship Grant on Organic Farming

BENEFITS

The grants will be given to 150 trainees and shall cover the following:

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Farm owner/operator of the certified organic or chemical-free farm, preferably LSA
  2. Must be in operation for at least 1 year
  3. Has farm activities within the value chain, either production, value-adding, processing, or marketing;
  4. Has basic farm tools, equipment, or facilities needed for its operation
  5. Has accommodation facility for 2 trainees
  6. Has an internship program plan from March to November within a year
  7. With good community standing and has no proven derogatory record
  8. The farm area is not part of military-identified conflict zones
REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Clear scanned copy of any valid government-issued ID (indicating the date of birth)
  2. Notarized Sworn Statement as proof of willingness and commitment to undertake organic agriculture-related activities/enterprises after the training;
  3. Business Model Canvas (BMC)
  4. Medical certificate indicating “fit to work”
  5. At least two (2) recommendation letters from a community leader (e.g. barangay captain, parish priest, school principal, civil society organization, farmers’ cooperative, or association)
  6. Bank account details, preferably LBP if available
  7. Accomplished application form

3. OWWA Scholarship Program

BENEFITS
  1. For incoming freshmen, the selection of scholars is determined through the DOST national examinations.
  2. Only the top 400 passers are considered for entry as freshmen.
  3. 600 slots are for those who are already enrolled in college.
  4. A scholarship grant to qualified dependents of OFWs consisting of a maximum of Php 60,000.00 per school year until the completion of the baccalaureate course (4-5 years).
Who are qualified for the (ODSP)-OWWA Scholarship?

A child of an active OWWA member or a sibling of a single active OWWA member who is:

  1. Incoming Senior High School (Grade 12)
    • must have at least 80% General Weighted Average (GWA) without failing grades upon application
    • passed the qualifying examination to be conducted by DOST and belonged to the top 400 passers nationwide
  2. Incoming Freshmen (1st-year college)
    • Single
    • Grade 11 graduate (Incoming Grade 12 / currently enrolled as Grade 12)
    • Not more than 21 years old
    • With a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 80% or higher. If required, GWA is not yet available at the time of filing of the application; the academic performance of the applicant in the two consecutive preceding school years shall be used as the basis for evaluation.
    • Belonging to the top 400 qualifiers of the Department of Science and Technology national qualifying exam
  3. For those who are already enrolled in 2nd year to 5th year of college
    • Not more than 30 years old
    • With a GWA not lower than a B letter grade or 85% equivalence in all academic and non-academic subjects during the last school year, attended a full load.

4. GSIS National Art Competition

BENEFITS
  • The prizes for the first, second, and third place winners in all categories are Php300,000, Php200,000, and Php100,000, respectively.
  • There will be five honorable mentions in each category.
  • The honorable mentions will receive P25,000 each.
WHO CAN APPLY?
  • Participants must be Filipino artists and be at least 18 years old.
  • Applicants are allowed to submit one artwork in each of the following categories: sculptural, nonrepresentational (or abstract), and representational.
  • The contest’s open theme this year allows artists the flexibility to conceptualize their pieces.
  • The entries must be unique and from 2023.
  • The entries cannot have previously been displayed, altered, or given a prize.

Note: The Art Association of the Philippines’ officers and artists who are helping with the competition are ineligible to participate.

APPLICATION PERIOD
  • The submission period is from May 2 to 6, 2023.
  • The submission period is based on a priority schedule.
  • Artists with surnames from A to F must submit their entries on May 2.
  • Artists with surnames starting with G-L must submit their entries on May 3.
  • Artists with surnames from M to Q must submit their entries on May 4.
  • Artists with surnames from R to Z must submit their entries on May 5.
  • Group submission via courier is on May 6.
  • The submission period is from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. only.

The finalists will be uploaded to the GSIS website on May 19, 2023, while the winners will be announced on June 16, 2023.

5.  PNPA Cadetship Admission 2023

BENEFITS

Qualifications for PNPA Admission

You should have the following qualifications to be able to join the maroon line.

  • Natural-born Filipino Citizen;
  • Must be 18-22 years old before June 1, 2024;
  • At least a Senior High School (SHS) Graduate and/or has satisfactorily complied with all the requirements for graduation before July 30, 2024;
  • Must have a NORMAL BMI;
  • Single with NO parental obligation;
  • Must be (minimum barefoot) 5’2” (158.4 cm) for males and 5’0 (152.4 cm) for females pursuant to R.A. 11549;
  • PHYSICALLY and MENTALLY fit to undergo rigorous training;
  • With good moral character (not been convicted of any criminal, administrative, or civil case);
  • No pending complaint and/or case involving moral turpitude or crimes against the state;
  • Not a former cadet of PNPA and other service academies; and
  • Never been dismissed for cause from any private or government position.

All possible questions about this may be answered if the post is carefully read and understood. These requirements cannot be waived or adjusted for conformity. Do not apply if you are not qualified.
