The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) in the Philippines and Taiwan’s National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) are jointly inviting applications for the MECO-TECO Sandwich Scholarship Program (SSP) for the academic year 2025.
This program provides an opportunity for Master’s and PhD students to conduct research in Taiwan’s universities or research institutions, promoting academic partnerships and scientific advancement between the two nations.
Eligibility:
The DOST MECO-TECO Sandwich Scholarship Program 2025 is open to graduate students who are eager to conduct research in Taiwan. Below are the eligibility requirements:

Deadline:
As announced on the DOST – International Cooperation Facebook page on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 9:52 AM, the DOST MECO-TECO Sandwich Scholarship Program for 2025 is now open for applications. The deadline for submission is April 18, 2025.
Requirements:
As stated, all applicants for the DOST MECO-TECO Sandwich Scholarship Program must submit the hard copies (with wet signature) of the following documents, compiled into a long brown envelope.
The envelope should be labeled with your full name and the subject “2025 MECO-TECO SSP Application”, and addressed to the International Technology Cooperation Unit (ITCU):
- Accomplished MECO-TECO SSP Application Form (form attached).
- Proposed Host Institution and Adviser Acceptance Letter.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) of both Filipino and Taiwanese Host Professors.
- Certified Copy of Transcript of Records.
- Endorsement from Two (2) Former Professors.
- Endorsement from Project Leader (for ASTHRDP/ERDT scholars).
- Recommendation from the President of the Agency (if employed).
- Two (2) Recent 2×2 ID Pictures.
