About the Dr. Pio Valenzuela Scholarship Program

The Dr. Pio Valenzuela Scholarship Program (DPVSP) is a local government scholarship initiative designed to support deserving and financially challenged students from Valenzuela City.

The program aims to:

✔ Help students from low-income families pursue higher education
✔ Reward strong academic performance and good moral character
✔ Provide opportunities for students to complete their college education

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the Dr. Pio Valenzuela Scholarship Program, applicants must meet the following academic standards:

Academic Performance

Applicants must have:

  • No grade lower than 85 in any subject
  • General Weighted Average (GWA) of 85% and above

From the following:

  • Grade 12 Report Card (1st Semester)
  • Grade 11 Report Card (1st & 2nd Semesters)

Financial Eligibility

The scholarship prioritizes students from low-income households.

If Parents Are Employed

  • 2024 Income Tax Return (ITR 2316)
    • Annual Gross Income must not exceed ₱120,000
  • Latest 1-month payslip

If Parents Are Unemployed

  • Affidavit of Non-Filing of ITR
    • Must be JOINT if both parents live together and are legal guardians
    • Purpose must state: For the Dr. Pio Valenzuela Scholarship Program
  • Certificate of Non-Filing of ITR

If Parents Are Working Abroad (OFW)

  • Employment Contract
  • Latest 2 months’ remittance records

Other Required Documents

Applicants must also prepare the following:

  1. Certificate of Residency and Indigency of both parents (from Barangay)
  2. Picture of the actual street and residence of the applicant
  3. Hand-drawn residence sketch with landmarks from PLV Maysan Campus to home (Google Maps screenshots are NOT allowed)
  4. PSA Certified Birth Certificate
  5. Certificate of Good Moral Character (for DPVSP)
  6. School ID Card (front and back)
  7. Voter’s Certificate of registered parent/guardian (one only)
  8. Voter’s Certificate of applicant (if 18 years old or above)

Application Process

Important: Send ONLY ONE EMAIL containing the application form and all requirements. Do not send multiple emails.

Applicants are given ample time to prepare and upload all required documents. All documents must be scanned clearly and saved in PDF format.
