About the Toyota–Rufus B. Rodriguez Scholarship

The Toyota Motor Philippines School of Technology (TMP Tech), located at the Toyota Special Economic Zone in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, provides world-class technical-vocational training for future automotive professionals.

Through the Toyota–Rufus B. Rodriguez Scholarship, students from Cagayan de Oro can study the Toyota General Job Automotive Servicing Course — a 16-month training program that prepares scholars for a career within the Toyota Network.

This partnership ensures that qualified students from financially challenged families get access to quality automotive education and stable employment opportunities after graduation.

Course Details

  • Course: Toyota General Job Automotive Servicing
  • Duration: 16 months
  • Location: Toyota Motor Philippines School of Technology (TMP Tech), Sta. Rosa, Laguna

Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for the Toyota–Rufus B. Rodriguez Scholarship, applicants must meet the following:

  1. Must be a Filipino citizen and resident of Cagayan de Oro City
  2. Preferably 17–25 years old
  3. Must be at least a Senior High School graduate
  4. Preferably from the Automotive Strand in SHS
  5. Must have an average grade of 85% and above, with no failing grades in any subject
  6. Must pass the following TMP Tech evaluations:
    • Admission Exam
    • Interview
    • Home/Family Visit
    • Medical Exam
      (Note: Congressman Rufus Rodriguez will cover medical exam expenses for successful applicants.)
  7. Must have good moral character (no record of disciplinary cases)
  8. Family income must not exceed ₱150,000 annually
  9. Must submit a Certificate of Indigency from the concerned barangay

Return Service Agreement

After completing the program, scholars are required to work within the Toyota Network for five (5) years.

This ensures they gain real-world experience and contribute their skills to the automotive industry.

Scholarship Benefits

Successful applicants will enjoy full support throughout their studies, including:

  1. Free tuition and miscellaneous fees
  2. Free Dormitory accommodation and basic meals
  3. Free two (2) sets of uniform (pants & shirt)
  4. Airfare for key trips, including:
    • Opening of classes

Toyota Philippines will spend around ₱300,000 per scholar for this program.
