The Bugsay Scholarship Program by RAFI Micro-Finance, Inc. (RAFI MFI) provides financial support to students whose parents or legal guardians are active RAFI MFI clients. It helps deserving scholars pursue a four-year degree in priority fields like Accounting, Business, IT, Psychology, and Social Work.

RAFI MFI, a program under the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI), empowers low-income families through microfinance and community programs.

Qualification:

To qualify, the Bugsay Scholarship Program is open to students who meet the following requirements:

1. Parentage / Family Requirement

The applicant must be a biological or legally adopted child of an active client of RAFI Micro-Finance, Inc. (RAFI MFI).

  • Active client of RAFI MFIThe applicant’s parent or legal guardian must currently be borrowing money or receiving financial assistance from RAFI MFI.
  • Biological or legally adopted childThe parent’s name must appear on the applicant’s birth certificate, or the applicant must have been legally adopted through official documents.

2. Education Requirement

  • Must have completed Senior High School or its equivalent.
  • Must be an incoming first-year college student.
  • Must pass the entrance exam and meet the academic requirements of the chosen university or college.

To qualify for the Bugsay Scholarship Program, applicants must be willing to pursue or currently pursuing a four-year degree program in one of the following fields.

  • Accounting
  • Communications
  • Psychology
  • Social Work
