About the CP-GIFTS Scholarship:
Funding Sources (Section 10): The CP-GIFTS scholarship program draws its funding from the Province of Cebu, private institutions, foreign aid or grants, private organizations, business establishments, civic organizations, or a combination thereof.
Allocation (Section 11): Under the program, one hundred (100) scholars or grantees are designated per district, with additional provisions from supplementary sources.
In districts where the number of qualified scholars falls below one hundred, the remaining slots are reallocated to ensure full district allocation. Priority is given to graduates of public high schools.
Qualifications:
To qualify for the CP-GIFTS Scholarship Program, applicants must:
- Be a registered voter in Cebu Province.
- Have been a resident of Cebu Province for at least one year.
- Be enrolled in a state or public university.
- Not be enrolled in any medical or graduate course.
- Not be receiving any other form of scholarship or allowance from government or private institutions.
- Have a family’s combined parental income not exceeding Two Hundred Thousand Pesos (P200,000.00) per annum.
Requirements:
Below are the essential criteria and documents needed to qualify for the CP-GIFTS Scholarship Program.
Academic Requirements:
- Incoming first-year student with a minimum general weighted average of 85%.
- Passed the entrance exam and fulfilled all admission requirements with a General Weighted Average (GWA) of at least 85%.
Documentation Requirements:
- Certified true copy of Certificate of Good Moral Character signed by the school principal, endorsed by the District Supervisor, and authenticated by the receiver.
- Proof of residency in the Province of Cebu for at least one year prior to application.
- Proof of voter registration in the Province of Cebu.
- Certification of family income not exceeding Two Hundred Thousand Pesos (P200,000.00) per annum.
- Declaration of not receiving any other subsidy in the form of living allowance from government or private sources.
Additional Information
- Applicants must provide accurate information as the CP-GIFTS Office will verify parental income using their ITR during the endorsement process.
- The submission of the BIR certificate can be completed after all other required documents have been submitted.
- Qualified applicants will receive notification after document evaluation to proceed with fulfilling the BIR requirement.
Benefits:
Subject to the conditions specified in Section 6, scholars or grantees will receive the following assistance:
- Financial Support: Students enrolled in both public and private schools will receive a monthly financial assistance of Two Thousand Pesos (P2,000.00). This amount will be disbursed either in cash or through a check.
- Disbursement Condition: The financial assistance will be provided upon submission of the scholar’s grades for the preceding semester. Alongside the grades, a certification from the Student Affairs Office is required, confirming that the scholar is not receiving any other form of living allowance subsidy from the government or any private institutions.
Priority Courses:
Scholars must enroll in courses offered by State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs), or any private school within Cebu Province, including its cities. Priority will be given to applicants pursuing the following fields:
- Agriculture
- Fisheries
- Accountancy
- Real Estate Management
- Engineering
- Pre-Medical Courses
- Social Work
- Psychology
- Criminology
- Mechatronics/Robotics
- Information Technology and related fields
Excluded Courses:
- Law
- Medicine
- Other graduate programs
