Eligibility:
To qualify for DOST Science and Technology (S&T) scholarships, applicants must meet specific criteria, including:
- Being a natural-born Filipino citizen
- Being a regular second-year college student enrolled in an identified priority S&T course at an identified university for the Second Semester of the school year
- Having a general weighted average of at least 83% or its equivalent with no conditional or failing mark from the First Semester of the First Year until the First Semester of the Second Year in college, including midyear terms, if enrolled
- Demonstrating good moral character and being in good health
- Having taken the DOST-SEI Scholarship Examination before but not passing, or qualifying for the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship but not availing of the scholarship award
Additional criteria apply depending on the specific scholarship program:
- For RA 7687 scholarships: Being a poor, talented, and deserving student who belongs to a family whose socio-economic status does not exceed the set values of certain indicators, and being a resident of the municipality for four (4) years or longer as attested by the barangay
- For RA 10612 scholarships: No additional criteria beyond the general ones mentioned above apply.

- This document should cover your academic performance from the first semester of your first year until the first semester of your second year in college, including any midyear terms if you were enrolled. It must be signed by the University Registrar or Dean of College.
- Recent Passport-size Photo:
The photo must meet specific requirements:
- It should show 80% of the applicant’s face.
- The background must be white, and the photo should be in color.
- The name tag should be positioned approximately 1 inch below the chin, showing the full name written by hand (First Name, Middle Initial, Last Name, and Extension Name if applicable, e.g., JUAN C. DELA CRUZ, JR.), with the signature over the printed name.
- It must be taken within the last three months before filing the application.

10. Parent/s or Legal Guardian’s 2021 Income Documents:
Submit a clear, signed copy of income tax returns, BIR Form 1701, employment contract for OFWs, BIR Certificate of Exemption from Filing Income Tax Returns, certificate of indigency, certificate of employment with compensation, or proof of pension.
The document should clearly indicate the annual gross income, and the specific document required depends on the parent’s class of worker.

Issuance of Test Permit:
The pen and paper examination is scheduled for July 28, 2024.
Eligible applicants will receive a Test Permit via their registered email address sometime in July 2024. This permit will contain details about the test center, session, and other pertinent information.
Submission of Certification as Regular Third Year Status:
After enrolling in the First Semester of AY 2024-2025, applicants must secure a certification as a REGULAR THIRD YEAR student in their course from the University, or have Application Form E-1 signed by the university.
Submit this certification to SEI on or before August 23, 2024. This instruction will also be reiterated on the exam day.
Announcement of Scholarship Qualifiers:
Applicants whose performance in the scholarship examination meets the cut-off score will be considered potential qualifiers.
Notice of Award will be sent through the registered email address, advising applicants of the schedule for the orientation on the JLSS Policies and the Signing of the Scholarship Agreement.
Check the SEI website: https://sei.dost.gov.ph for announcements of scholarship qualifiers, tentatively in October 2024.
A qualifier and their parent or guardian must attend the Orientation on the S&T Scholarship Policies and sign the Scholarship Agreement to become a DOST-SEI scholar.
Effectivity of Scholarship Award:
The scholarship award is effective for the First Semester of AY 2024-2025.
