Eligibility:

Before you apply for the DOST S&T Undergraduate Scholarship Program, make sure you meet the following requirements:

  1. Graduating Grade 12 students in SY 2023-2024:
  • STEM STRAND: All STEM class students are eligible.
  • NON-STEM STRAND: Must rank in the top 5% of the graduating class.
  1. Graduates of Grade 12 before SY 2023-2024 who haven’t enrolled in college yet:
  • STEM STRAND: All STEM class graduates are eligible.
  •  NON-STEM STRAND: Must rank in the top 5% of the graduating class.
  1. Graduates of high school before the K-12 Program:
  • Must belong to the top 5% of the graduating class.

General Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be a natural-born Filipino citizen.
  • Must demonstrate good moral character and be in good health.
  • Must not have earned any post-secondary (college or vocational) units.

Additional Notes:

Those who previously applied for the DOST S&T Undergraduate Scholarship but didn’t qualify or didn’t avail of the award, as well as those who haven’t applied to any DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship Program, are eligible to apply.

Important Details Before Applying

Valid Email Addresses:

  • You’ll need a valid email address for logging into your application account and receiving updates about your application status and results.
  • Make sure to enter the correct email address. Verify it to ensure it hasn’t been compromised in a data breach.
  • For security, use secured email accounts with two-step verification.
  • All updates and announcements regarding your application will be sent to the email address used during registration.
  • Provide an alternate email address to ensure communication if the primary one fails.

Working Mobile Number/s:

  • Supply a working mobile number to be contacted regarding your application, if needed.

Security of Access Credentials:

  • Upon registration, you’ll receive an Application ID, which, along with your personal data, serves as your access credential to the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship E-Application System. Keep these credentials secure.

No to Multiple Accounts:

  • Do not create multiple accounts as it may cause delays in accessing your application form.

Stable Internet Connection:

  • Ensure a stable internet connection when filling out your E-Application and uploading necessary documents.

Information Needed Before Filing Your E-Application:

  • Father’s, mother’s, spouse’s (if married), and legal guardian’s (if applicable) annual gross income.
  • Details of any contributions received from outside sources, including the giver, amount, and purpose.
  • Family’s ownership of agricultural land (in hectares) and vehicles (type, year, and model).

 Special Instructions:  

  • Print each form in size A4 bond paper.
  • Have the forms accomplished by the proper authorities/officials/persons as indicated in each form.
  • Ensure that each form is signed.
  • Scan or take a picture of each accomplished form and save the file.
  • Name each file: (Surname-Form __) when saving it.
  • Submit each form using the Upload Module in the E-Application System. Use the appropriate upload field for each file.
  • Ensure that the files uploaded are correct and complete.

  • Must show face of the Applicant, 80% of the picture
  • Must be colored, with white background
  • With the name tag position at approximately 1 inch or 2.54 cm below the chin: Full name, handwritten- First Name, Middle Initial, Last Name, and Extension Name, if any (e.g. JUAN C. DELA CRUZ, JR.), and signature over printed name
  • Taken within the last three (3) months prior to filing of application

  1. Parent/s or Legal Guardian’s or Spouse’s 2022 Income Tax Return / BIR Form 1701 / Employment Contract for OFW / BIR Certificate of Exemption from Filing of ITR / Certificate of Indigency / Certificate of Employment with Compensation / Proof of Pension
  • Clear, signed copy.
  • Annual Gross Income must be clearly indicated in the document.
  • The particular document depends on the parent’s class of worker.

Additionally, here are some important notes to keep in mind throughout the application process:

Issuance of Test Permit:

The pen and paper examination is scheduled on April 6-7, 2024.

The qualified Applicant will be issued a Test Permit where his/her test center and test session and other pertinent information relative to the examination will be indicated.

This will be sent to the Applicant’s registered email address sometime in February 2024.

Announcement of Scholarship Qualifiers:

Check the SEI website: https://sei.dost.gov.ph or bookmark this article for the announcements of the scholarship qualifiers tentatively in June 2024.

If you qualify for the scholarship, you will be sent the Notice of Award through your registered email address.

Effectivity of Scholarship Award:

A qualifier who accepts the scholarship award must attend the orientation on the scholarship policies and sign the Scholarship Agreement to become a DOST-SEI scholar.

The scholarship award is effective for the First Semester of Academic Year 2024-2025.
