Return Service:

Upon completing the scholarship program, the scholar must return to the Philippines and render full-time service in their sending institution, preferably in their field of specialization. The required service period is twice the length of time (or a fraction thereof) that the scholar benefited from the MS/PhD scholarship.

Important Note: Any service rendered before the completion of the scholarship will not be counted toward the service obligation.

Terms and Conditions:

  • The scholar must pursue an MS (maximum of 24 months) or PhD (maximum of 36 months) program on a full-time basis.
  • Lateral entrants will not be considered.
  • The scholar must not receive any other scholarships during the study period.
  • A full-time commitment is required, meaning the scholar cannot engage in any form of employment while on scholarship.
  • Failure to complete the degree or fulfill the required service obligation, preferably in the sending institution may result in the full refund of financial assistance received, with 12% interest payable to DOST-SEI. Additionally, any salaries or other remunerations may need to be reimbursed to the sending institution.
