OWWA is an agency attached to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in the Philippines. Established in 1977 as the Welfare and Training Fund for Overseas Workers, OWWA aims to protect the interests of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families. 

It offers various services, including social security, cultural support, employment assistance, remittance facilitation, and legal aid.

OWWA Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP)

For Incoming 1st Year College:

  • Age requirement: Not more than 21 years old.
  • Must be a grade 12 graduating student.
  • General Weighted Average (GWA) requirement: 80% or its equivalent.
  • Academic documentation: Grades for grades 9, 10, & 11 (Form 137, Form 138, or Transcript of Records).
  • Must have no failing grades.
  • Must be enrolled in a Philippine-based college/university.

For 2nd to 5th Year College:

  • Age requirement: Not more than 30 years old.
  • General Weighted Average (GWA) requirement: Not lower than 85% or its equivalent.
  • Must have no failing grades.
  • Must be enrolled in a Philippine-based college/university.
