About Universidad de Zamboanga

Universidad de Zamboanga

Engr. Arturo Eustaquio Sr., also known as “Turo,” came from Marikina, Rizal, in Luzon. He was born in 1909 and was really good at school. He went to Rizal High School and was the top student when he graduated in 1927.

After high school, Turo went to the University of the Philippines to study Civil Engineering. Even though it was tough, he finished in 1931 with great grades.

Because of Turo’s love for education, Universidad de Zamboanga grew a lot. It became a university in 2005. Today, it continues Turo’s legacy by giving students a great education and helping them become leaders in Zamboanga City and beyond.
