About Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University (ZPPSU)
Established in 1905 under the leadership of Dr. Najeev M. Saleeby, Superintendent of Schools in the Moro Province, Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University emerged from a modest shop within the Zamboanga East Central School.
The founding aimed to introduce practical industries and trades tailored to the needs of the local community.
In April 2021, the Commission on Higher Education Region Office IX approved the transformation of Zamboanga City State Polytechnic College into ZPPSU, marking a significant milestone for education in the Zamboanga Peninsula.
This development represented the region’s third State University, bolstering the availability of higher education opportunities for the local population.
Within just two years, ZPPSU has achieved notable progress. With an enrollment exceeding 20,000 students, the university has expanded its academic repertoire with the introduction of new courses.
Additionally, campus infrastructure has been enhanced to accommodate the growing student population.
Dedicated to shaping the educational landscape of the Zamboanga Peninsula, ZPPSU empowers students to thrive in their chosen fields.
