About OWWA OFW Dependent Scholarship Program

The scholarship provides financial assistance to dependents of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) for pursuing higher education.

It covers essential educational costs for students enrolled in four-year or five-year baccalaureate courses or associate courses at accredited institutions.

Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for the OWWA OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP), applicants must meet the following requirements:

ODSP Category 1

• Incoming 1st Year College:
  • Must be a child or sibling of an active OFW member.
  • Single and not more than 21 years old.
  • OFW parent’s monthly income must be USD $600.00 or less.
  • Must have a passing grade or GWA.
  • Must be enrolled in a college or university based in the Philippines.

ODSP Category 2

• 2nd to 5th Year College Students:
• Must be a child or sibling of an active OFW member.
• Single and not more than 30 years old.
• OFW parent’s monthly income must be USD $600.00 or less.
• Must have a passing grade or GWA.
• Must be enrolled in a college or university based in the Philippines.

3. 2 pcs. I.D. Picture with name tag
   • Where to Secure: Applicant
4. At least one (1) valid I.D. of OFW member and/or Authorized Representative
   • Where to Secure: Government Issued or Company Issued I.D
5. Proof of Relationship to OFW Member
   • Where to Secure: Philippine Statistics Authority or Local Civil Registrar
     • Birth Certificate (if dependent is a child)
     • OFW Birth Certificate (if dependent is a sibling)
     • OFW CENOMAR (if single)
     • Dependent’s Birth Certificate
6. Dependent’s Form 137/ Certified true copy of Form 138/ Transcript of Records (TOR) indicating 80% GWA without failing grades
   • Where to Secure: School Registrar
7. Other Special Requirements (WAIVED DUE TO PANDEMIC):
   • Certificate of Good Moral
     • Where to Secure: School Registrar or Authorized School Officer/Faculty
   • Medical Certificate i.e. Physically Fit to attend school if student has a medical pre-condition/s
     • Where to Secure: Any competent Medical Practitioner from public or private medical institution/facility

Application Deadline:

The application period for the OWWA OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP) 2024 is from July 26, 2024, to August 16, 2024.

Application Process:

Step 1. Prepare the Complete Documentary Requirements:

Step 2. Scan the Documentary Requirements:

• Ensure all documents are scanned clearly and legibly.

• Submit your scanned application and documents online to the respective OWWA Regional Office based on your location.

Step 4. Visit the OWWA Regional Welfare Office:

• Go to the OWWA Regional Welfare Office that covers the permanent address of the OFW.
• Get a queuing number or queue in line for the ODSP scholarship application.

Step 5. Obtain Notice of Award and Schedule of Scholarship Orientation:

• Collect the Notice of Award and the schedule for the Scholarship Orientation.

Step 6. Attend Scholarship Orientation and Facilitate Notarization:

• Attend the Scholarship Orientation.
• Facilitate the notarization of the Scholarship Agreement.

Step 7. Additional Requirements (if applicable):

• Certificate of Good Moral: Obtain from the school registrar or authorized school officer/faculty (waived due to pandemic).
• Medical Certificate: If required, get this from a competent medical practitioner (waived due to pandemic).
